“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”
Writer, Producer, Edutainer, Globetrotter, Hedonist; I was born and raised on a small island called St.Maarten, truly a paradise to grow up in. I attended University in the Netherlands to study Audiovisual Media. During this time I had the opportunity to work for media-production company in Santiago, Chile and teach film production at TaSUBa, a university in Bagamoyo, Tanzania.
In my last year at university I focused on production and wrote my thesis for my Master in Arts Design which was about most effective way to apply Edutainment. As part of my thesis I produced a documentary called ‘Back in the Day’. The documentary reminisced about St.Maarten in the 1960’s and featured stories accompanied by rarely seen footage in 1947 and 1962. I hope to keep on writing and be part of productions set in St.Maarten and nearby islands.
“The world is a playground, and life is pushing my swing.”
Island life offers a combination of great people, gorgeous landscapes and loose rules. It is my favourite playground so far. This year I would like to visit every beach at least once on the island this year. 37 beaches and somehow I always end up on Simpsonbay.
